Staff Software Developer
As a Staff Software Engineer in the product team at Condens, you’ll help us shape our software and improve the daily work of our customers. With your experience and knowledge of software development, you’ll come up with clever & pragmatic solutions for relevant user problems, transform those into code and make sure they end up being used by our customers.

- write code for the frontend and backend
- design the software architecture for features and enhancements and then implement them
- collaborate with colleagues from the product team to achieve a great user experience for our customers
- give feedback to your developer colleagues and do code reviews
- maintain and improve Condens’ cloud infrastructure and tooling
The role is perfect for you if you
- are a structured and analytical thinker
- write pragmatic, maintainable code
- have extensive experience as a full-stack web application developer and with JavaScript/TypeScript
- have at least some knowledge of AWS or other cloud platforms
- are curious and care about the people who use the software you develop
- don’t require pixel-perfect mockups but instead have an affinity for UI/UX and can make smaller, more detailed decisions about the frontend yourself
- are motivated by your code having an impact on the day-to-day of our users
- like to work closely with your colleagues and are willing to give and receive feedback
- ideally have experience with any parts of our tech stack (Vue.js, ProseMirror, SCSS, Node, PostgreSQL)
How software development might be different from other companies
- We have a very pragmatic, no-bullshit approach to software development and our processes. Everything is focused on getting actual work done and generating value for our users. "It's best practice" is never the reason we do something.
- We don't do tickets or user stories. When we start working on something, we discuss it in detail, take notes, identify uncertainties, and determine what a releasable version would look like - and then we implement it. If questions arise or decisions need to be made, we tackle them as they come up.
- We ship often. And by that, we don’t mean that we try to ship every few weeks but rather that in a normal week, we have a couple of releases.
- Everyone in our company is in contact with our users. We believe that understanding and empathizing with them is essential for writing good, user-focused software. This means that as a developer you will also answer customer questions, notify customers about updates, etc. It won’t take up much of your time, and you’ll gain a lot of value from it.
