Let's Meet Up Virtually: UX Research Meetup & Event Guide February 2024
Check out this February's virtual talks, meetups, networking events, and conferences around UX Research. π
This guide focuses on pure UX Research events and doesnβt include general UX events on purpose. Also, we focused on events that are primarily held in English. Most of the included meetups are free, but we also added some announced events and specific UX Research conferences.

AI User Research in Healthcare π
"We look forward to Douglas Pyle joining us to discuss AI user research in Healthcare. Doug is a UX leader with about two decades of UX experience, a mentor, and a UX educator. His experience includes an instructor role at the University of Washington and director roles at Side, GE, and Smartsheet.
Douglas will discuss with our Human-Centered AI podcast team how to conduct user research for AI products, particularly Healthcare, as well as the future of AI tools in user research."
UX Research - Using AI for Literature Reviews and Deeper Thinking π
"Join me on a self-reflective (personal) journey as we take a look at the pros and cons of using AI to help understand the data around us for tasks like literature reviews, deeper thinking and challenging our UX research assumptions."
How to Run High Engagement Surveys π
"To uncover when and how to run surveys successfully, I'll talk to Bryan Rill who holds a PhD in anthropology and has over 20 years of research experience with startups as well as established companies.
We'll investigate when surveys are the right choice to get customer feedback, how to run them without a research pro on the team and what are the common pitfalls that will lead to low engagement."
1 Learning CE: UX Research & Behavior Analysis
"User experience research (UXR) is a discipline focused on developing digital and physical products based on the needs, preferences, and challenges experienced by the people who use those products or services.
This presentation will provide an overview of UXR while overlaying a behavior-analytic perspective and provide a case study for consideration. Professionals looking to explore new areas of specialization will receive recommendations for how to pursue a new career."
Kickoff Your 2024 Network - Meet New UX Folks π
"Join UXRS for our first networking event of 2024!
We are going to have small breakout rooms where you can get to know other people who are interested in user experience research and strategy.
Thank you for all of your support in 2023, and we hope to see you at all of our events in 2024."
UX Greece Welcomes Jakob Nielsen π
"We know you love #ux as much as we do!
On this year's Valentine's day, join us for a special event. One of the most prominent figures, and a true pioneer in the fields of usability, human factors, and UX, Jakob Nielsen (yes, the one) will be our guest for a Q&A session.
Join us to learn and discuss about UX, #AI, passion, and everything in between!"

Lunch with VSG - Incentivising Participation in Research π
"With the cost of living crisis, the question of how we can convince people to give up their time for research and fairly compensate them for doing so has become even more important.
At the same time, research budgets are often being stretched, leaving us all wondering how to balance the books.
Join us to discuss:
When you use incentives
Who you use incentives for
The type of incentive you give (e.g. voucher, cash, BACS payment)
How much you give as incentives and how you calculate this
How effective you're finding the incentives as convincing people to participate"
Is Domain Knowledge Required for Effective UX Research? π
"Do UX Researchers need in-depth domain knowledge to do their jobs effectively? Or can researchers deliver valuable insights without understanding a product's details or industry jargon? Join us to discuss how much or how little domain knowledge a UX Researcher needs to provide quality services. This free remote event will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at 10 am PT."
UX Research
"Join us for an exciting online training session, where we teach you research gathering techniques, user experience research integration, and how to communicate your findings! Our expert speakers will share their insights and guide you through the essentials of creating delightful user experiences.
Arm yourself with a robust research toolkit that will help you uncover deep behavioural insights on user needs and motivations. Gain the necessary techniques to guide and positively impact the user experience of your mobile, web, or digital product designs."
Niche Research π
"Some niche populations require you to modify how you recruit, interview, and test prototypes when youβre running research studies. In these circumstances, the βtried and trueβ approaches to research just donβt work.
Join us in Seattle this February to deep dive into the challenges and creativity involved in doing research with unique populations."
