Figma & FigJam + Condens

Do you want to include user quotes from your research project in a remote workshop? Or do you want to bring highlights to an online meeting with stakeholders that are familiar with FigJam? There are many ways to bring individual highlights or a group of highlights from Condens to FigJam, like:

Import highlight quotes as plain text

1. In Condens, select the user quotes you want to bring to FigJam. All copied quotes will appear within the same textbox.

2. Use   to copy the content (or use / +).

3. Define if the copy should contain the participant’s name and click on Copy as Text.

4. Open your FigJam board.

5. Paste the copied highlights with / +.

Import highlight quotes as sticky notes

1. In Condens, select the user quotes you want to bring to FigJam.

2. Click on to export the data either as CSV or Excel file.

3. Open the file and copy the relevant cells with / +

4. Open FigJam and paste the cells to your board with / +. Each cell will be placed on one sticky note.

Is your team familiar with FigJam and it's common practice to take notes from research sessions or brainstorm there? You can bring all FigJam notes to Condens in the structure you need. The notes from mindmaps, clustered sticky notes or other FigJam board elements can be brought to Condens either as a list containing all notes or as structured single elements. Here’s how to go about this:

Copy notes compiled as a list

In FigJam, select the notes that you want to bring to Condens. Copy the notes and paste them to a Condens Session. All notes are listed one after the other in the text editor.

Import notes as single sections

1. In FigJam, select the notes that you want to bring to Condens.

2. Export the data by clicking right, choose Export Selection and select CSV.

3. Open Condens, navigate to your research project and click on to bulk-import data.

4. Select your CSV file created from FigJam.

5. Define how you want to import the data by naming different sections, defining data types, or excluding fields. You can find more information on how to define fields for CSV-Import here.

6. Click Import Session

Add other FigJam elements

When you want to add FigJam elements like a mindmap to Condens Sessions or Conclusions, there are two more options: add FigJam elements as an image or PDF file.

• Import as image: Select the relevant elements in FigJam, right-click and choose Copy as PNG. Open Condens and paste the elements as an image, for example, to notes in a Session or a Condens Conclusion.

  Play

• Import as PDF: Select the relevant elements in FigJam, right-click and choose Export Selection and PDF. Upload the file to a Condens Session by using Drag and Drop or clicking next to Session name.
