Bulk Upload Recordings and Apply Tags with Ease

Bulk Upload Recordings and Apply Tags with Ease

June 1, 2023

You may have noticed that analyzing your research data in Condens has become faster and easier. We are excited to share some recent product updates that will enhance your experience with Condens and make research analysis even more enjoyable.

In this article, we will explore several new features: bulk uploading, tagging overlay improvements, and some other minor changes.

Let’s dive in!

Bulk Uploading: Effortlessly Transcribe Multiple Files

When dealing with larger research projects, onboarding processes, or trial periods, it is often necessary to transcribe and analyze multiple video recordings or audio files. In the past, Condens users could only upload these files one by one and had to wait for them to be transcribed sequentially. But not anymore!

With the new bulk uploading feature, you can prepare your data for analysis in just three easy steps:

  1. Access the Sessions page and click the "Bulk import sessions" button to open the upload modal.

  2. Choose the video or audio files you want to upload from your device archive, Zoom, Google Drive, or Microsoft Cloud or simply drag and drop the selected files onto the Sessions page, and separate sessions will be automatically created for each file.

  3. Set the respective language and set the number of people who are speaking in the recording for accurate speaker detection. You can adjust these settings for each separate recording. The transcription process starts immediately for all the sessions.

Transcription typically takes ten minutes per hour of recording. This means you can now save up so much waiting time! Watch the example video/gif below to see how it works.

And that's it! Your files are uploaded, transcribed, and ready for analysis. With bulk uploading and simultaneous transcription of video or audio recordings, Condens empowers you to work more efficiently, saving you valuable time. Have you tried it yet?

Tagging Overlay Improvements: Enhancing Precision and Context

Tagging in Condens is one of the most important features for streamlining your research, so we strive to make it as intuitive as possible. We've made significant improvements to the tagging overlay. With the latest updates, the tagging overlay now offers enhanced precision and context, allowing you to dive deeper into your research findings.

Custom tagging overlay size

With our latest update, you now have the ability to resize the tagging overlay to fit your screen based on the number of group tags and their length. By simply using the drag handles at the bottom, you can adjust the size of the tagging overlay according to your preferences, and it will remain resized for future sessions. This new feature allows you to have a comprehensive overview of your group tags, making it effortless to find the right tag within seconds.

Improvements to tag suggestions

Previously, when applying a suggested tag, the suggestions would shuffle, potentially causing confusion and disrupting your tagging process.

With the latest update, when you see the three automatically suggested tags while applying one, their hierarchy and order remains consistent when you click on any of the tags. This means that the tag suggestions maintain their original priority and structure throughout your analysis. You can now focus on a single tag while still having an overview of the automatically suggested tags and their relative importance.

Take a moment to view the example below, which demonstrates the enhanced tag suggestions feature in action.

Show tag details while tagging

You can now also click on the “Info” icon on the right of a tag and see the tag details including description and highlights. If you're jet unsure what's the right tag, you no longer need to switch to the taxonomy overview, but you can check it immediately when applying a tag.

Tags bulk adding

If you want to add multiple tags at once, you can now click on the circle on the left of the tag or hold “Cmd” (for Mac)/ “Cntr” (for Windows) while clicking. It will prevent you from deleting the filter, returning to the overview, and repeating the steps.

And even more…

  • You can now navigate tag groups with “Arrow” keys

  • When going back in the session, Condens remembers your scrolled position

  • The tag shortcut now also works for media highlights

  • If a tag starts with filter-term, it is now shown at the top.
