Copilot Studio

The Condens MCP server lets you connect your research repository to Microsoft Copilot Studio, so you can query your Condens data directly from an AI agent. This article walks you through the full setup.

The Microsoft Copilot Studio connection via Condens MCP server is available in the Enterprise plan.

Before you start

  • You need Admin access in Condens to complete the Condens setup steps.

  • You need access to Microsoft Copilot Studio to create and configure an agent.

Create a new agent in Copilot Studio

  1. Go to the Agents tab and click + Create blank agent in the top right corner.

  2. Add a name and then click Create.

  3. Select the Tools tab and click + Add a tool.

  4. Next, select Model Context Protocol.

  5. Fill out the necessary fields:

    • Server Name and Server Description (can be any that make most sense for you)

    • Server URL:

    • Authentication: Select OAuth 2.0, and then Dynamic discovery.

  6. Scroll to the bottom and click Create.

  7. Next, you'll see the connection status Not connected. Click that dropdown and select Create new connection, then click Create to confirm.

  8. You will get redirected to a screen in Condens saying that the app could not be authorized. Below, you'll find the redirect URI needed to complete the authorization. Please copy the URI — you’ll need it for the next steps — and do not close this tab yet.

Create the MCP client in Condens

A Condens Admin first needs to enable this MCP on a workspace level.

  1. Go to Settings > Account > Condens API & MCP.

  2. Under MCP settings, click the Add MCP Client button.

  3. Configure the new MCP client:

    1. Fill out the Client name and description.

    2. Paste the Redirect URI from Step 8 in the previous section.

    3. Click the dropdown menu in Available for to configure which users, roles, or user groups can use this MCP client. Only authorized users will see this client in their Integrations list once the setup is done.

    4. You can add instructions for your colleagues that will be visible in their Integrations list for this MCP connection.

  4. Click Save.

  5. Go back to the tab where you copied the Redirect URI from (Step 8 in the previous section) and click on Reload page.

  6. To confirm the connection with Copilot Studio, click and your agent will be ready.

Complete the connection in Copilot Studio

  1. To finalize your agent, click Add and configure.

  2. In the agent chat, ask a test question, for example:"Which Condens workspaces do I have access to?"

  3. The agent will respond with the option to Open connection manager and verify your credentials, please click that link.

  4. Click Connect next to Condens MCP, and then click Submit. You will see the connection status update to Connected.

  5. Go back to the agent chat and click Retry. If the agent answers your question from the earlier step, the setup is complete.
